Breathe Gives: Karma Yoga at Breathe
Do good, feel good!
At Breathe, we strongly believe our practice should include the yoga of service - karma yoga - and have made a commitment to open up our studio to raise funds and visibility for a variety of deserving and, where possible, local non-profits, charities, and causes.
We seek to raise funds through a variety of means:
free community, donation-based classes
collecting items for organizations such as Faith In Action and the Safe House of Ann Arbor
participating in local events
donating our time, teaching skills, and our mat rental fees
Gratefully accepting donations
during the month of June for:
Barn Sanctuary is a hands-on animal sanctuary dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and caring for farm animal refugees. This includes any animals that have been abused, abandoned, sentenced to death or are victims of natural disasters. We educate the public about the horrific treatment of animals raised and slaughtered by modern day farm factories, and the positive impact that a plant-based diet can have on the environment and our health.
Breathe Yoga is thrilled to be taking part in the Barn Santuary's Annual Fundraiser Barn Bash on June 15th with a free yoga class on the farm! Please join us and support this great organization.

This small but growing army of volunteers made of students, friends of the studio, and instructors engages in useful service to support our two very deserving local causes: Faith in Action and The United Methodist Retirement Community.
Students can sign up to be on a list of those willing to serve the community as volunteers, when and where needed by our community partners. Many of our students already volunteer individually for local causes; this is our way to try and provide a reliable, steady flow of support to our favorite non-profits and groups in need.
